The European film distributor made new deals with several of its buyers, spanning from Spain to Belgium and Switzerland all the way to Canada and Australia. These presale deals are once again, proof of the close, trustbased work relationship Arte Distribution has with its partners.

The international program sales unit of the European public channel Arte signed a new deal with its Spanish partner RTVE who pre-acquired Online Child Sexual Abuse – The Global Investigation (52’ & 90’), a documentary that takes the viewers at the very heart of ongoing investigations into child sexual abuse with the exclusive participation of experts in cybercrime.

Arte Distribution also secured several deals with CBC/Radio Canada. The Canadian broadcaster pre-purchased A History Of Abortion In The U.S. (52’), a documentary exploring the overturning of abortion rights on June 24, 2022, and its implications for one of the world’s oldest democracies and women’s rights. Additionally, Arte Distribution signed another presale deal with the Canadian broadcaster for The Curse Of Sugar (2×52’), a History Investigation series that examines the story of sugar and its ties to slavery, and the exploitation of land. These new deals allow the two companies to consolidate a long-term partnership.

In addition to these titles, Arte Distribution’s team has also secured presale agreements with several of its partners. For instance, the Australian broadcaster SBS pre-acquired The Mystery Of The Desert Kites (52’ & 90’), a history documentary following a team of archeologists as they investigate these megastructures discovered in the Black Desert of Jordan.

Furthermore, Arte Distribution’s buyers from Europe and to Asia pre-purchased several titles from the film distributor’s Cinema Icons collection, including Steven Spielberg, The ‘New Hollywood’ Prodigy (52’), Kate Winslet- A Quest For Authenticity (52’) and Celine Dion – A Star Is Born (52’). Each of these one-offs explores the career of these stars, their often-challenging beginnings, to their consecration.

Joséphine Létang, Head of Sales at Arte Distribution stated: “We are delighted to see our partners from all over the globe placing more and more trust in us and pre-purchasing an increasing number of our very impactful documentaries. We made it our mission and commitment to work with producers who care very much about making a wide range of insightful, premium films and bringing them to international audiences. We remain committed to this mission and will continue to pursue it with passion and dedication.”
