The experienced executive will move into an advisory role. His place will be taken by Dan Cohen.

ViacomCBS announced this Wednesday that Armando Nuñez is leaving the management of ViacomCBS Global Distribution Group to fill an advisory role. His place will be taken by Dan Cohen.

Nuñez led the operations of CBS Studios International, the distribution arm of CBS Studios, for more than three decades, making him it leader and benchmark in the industry.

Following the merger of CBS and Viacom, the seasoned executive went on to lead the company’s new distributor arm, christened ViacomCBS Global Distribution Group.

“Thanks to Armando and his exceptional leadership, the complicated work of unifying distribution and licensing operations was completed and the team has a clear strategy to move forward,” said Bob Bakish, ViacomCBS President and CEO.

“With a smooth transition between these two exceptional leaders, and with Dan now in command, we will continue to be in the best possible position to continue growing,” he added.

“When Bob asked me to lead the group after the merger, part of the plan was always that I would take my role on a day-to-day basis to move to an advisory rile once the teams were integrated and the future strategy set,” said Nuñez.

“Working hand in hand with Dan, that process has gone faster than we expected and is now complete. I can’t think of anyone better than Dan to lead us into the future,” he added.

Cohen was previously president of ViacomCBS Global Content Licensing following the merger in December 2019.

He previously worked as President of Worldwide Home Entertainment & Television Distribution for Paramount Pictures, the company he joined in 2017. He also worked at Disney / ABC.
