The OTT will produce the format Una vida, una cena by The Mediapro Studio and the documentary series Huesca FC.
Amazon proved it will continue to bet on Spain with a large number of new announcements related to original production.
On the one hand, the company unveiled new details about its series La templanza and El Cid, and on the other, it announced a new original series in Spain: Un asunto privado.
But its announcements werent limited to fiction, with two new ones related to unscripted content.
The company revealed it will produce two new unscripted titles in Spain: Una vida, una cena and Huesta FC (working title).
The first is the adaptation of a Mediapro Studio format, in which chef Quique Dacosta will be the star. Each episode will see the chef welcome a guest and turning their most precious memory into a dish.
It will premiere in late 2019.
Huesca FC, meanwhile, is a documentary series that follows the Huesca FC football club, which last season rose to the first division in Spain.
They will both join Six Dreams, already renewed for a second season, and El corazón de Sergio Ramos, a previously announced documentary series.
Produced by Love Productions USA, the series will have eight episodes and offer a new look at the famous soccer player through never-before-seen footage.
It’s produced by Richard McKerrow, Kevin Bartel and Lety Quintanar and will premiere on September 13 in more than 200 countries.
New acquisitions and local team expansion
Amazon also confirmed acquisition deals for Spanish series such as La que se avecina, Señoras del (h)AMPA, Tres caminos e Inés del alma mía and Hernán Cortés.
Pequeñas coincidencias and El pueblo will also have second seasons on the platform.
And lastly, Georgia Brown, director of Originals for Europe at Amazon Studios, revealed the company is expanding its team in Spain with the arrival of a head of production and development for fiction and another one for non-fiction.
The names will be announced in August.
