Danish, Finnish and German versions bring total number of commissions announced to fourteen .
Leading independent distributor All3Media International has today announced Finland and Denmark are the two latest territories set to adapt IDTV’s smash hit format The Traitors, as local German sources confirmed at the end of last week that All3Media’s Berlin based Tower Productions will produce the series for RTL in Germany.
In Finland, Fremantle will produce the Finnish version, whilst in Denmark Blu will produce a Danish version for TV2.
Following its original launch in the Netherlands, commissions of the hit format have now been announced in fourteen territories including France, New Zealand, Spain, Norway, Australia and Belgium. The series has generated fantastic results with recent successes in the UK, where the series streamed 28 million times on BBC iPlayer and in the US, where a second season has already been commissioned by Peacock.
In The Traitors, the contestants move into an atmospheric location with the goal to work as a team to complete a series of challenging missions to earn a cash prize. The catch, however, is that some of the contestants are traitors who will attempt to deceive and manipulate their way to the prize instead of sharing it amongst the group. As this gripping psychological game plays out, the celebrities must do everything they can to identify the traitors in their midst before it is too late.

In addition to the Finnish and Danish versions, Berlin-based production company Tower Productions GmbH, part of the All3Media family, is producing the psychological reality show The Traitors for RTL and the German market. The Dutch original De Verraders, developed and produced by All3Media’s IDTV, was awarded the “Golden Rose” (Rose d’Or) in the Reality and Factual Entertainment category in 2022.

The Traitors Germany is produced by Tower Productions, an All3Media Company. Producer is Kirstin Benthaus-Gebauer, Creative Director Caroline Hunt in cooperation with Jasper Hoogendoorn, Creative Director at IDTV.
The Traitors has also proved its offscreen credentials in the licensing market, with All3Media International partnering with game distributor Ginger Fox on The Traitors Card Game (available now in the UK) and with Vivid / Goliath and Identity Games on the official The Traitors Board Game which launched at The London Toy Fair last month with BBC contestants Wilfred Webster and Hannah Byczkowski and will be on shelves in UK and Eire, September 2023.
