Amuz Distribution has had a great Mipcom Cannes 2023, with the announcement of two different deals, one for The Boys, with Tucker Tooley Entertainment, and another for In Lieu of Flowers, with We Make Productions.
Those deals for a comedy-series (The Boys) and a variety format (In Lieu of Flowers) do exemplify a believe around distributors and producers that the pos-pandemic audiences are looking for lighter content.
“After the pandemic people need to laugh, people need to have a good time, we are pretty sure is a perfect time to distribute comedy content and feel-good content as we do,” says Alexandre Avon, VP Global Distribution at Amuz Distribution.
Avon highlighted another title, Counter Offer, “a real state agency show”, with four seasons produced, as their hottest content at the moment.
“The second one is Larry, its a dramedy about redemption, more dram than dramedy,” admits Avon.
Also, Amuz is distributing the Canadian title About Antoine, who triumphed in the category Representation of Disability – Scripted during the Mipcom Diversify Award.
