The Director-General of the Brazilian giant has decided that he will be terminating his executive activities in the company in January 2020.
After 25 years as head of Globosat, Director-General Alberto Pecegueiro has decided that he will be terminating his executive activities in the company in January 2020.
The announcement was made today by Roberto Irineu Marinho, Chairman of the Administrative Board, and Jorge Nóbrega, Grupo Globo Executive President, in an internal communication sent to company employees.
Due to his in-depth knowledge of the industry and unique career developed within the company, the executive has been invited to become a member of the Administrative Boards representing the group’s joint ventures.
The professional trajectory of one of the leading figures in the Brazilian audiovisual industry was marked by the development of the pay-tv segment in the country and the transformation of Globosat into Latin America’s largest pay-tv operator, with a portfolio of 30 channels.
Responsible for incorporating into the business the most significant developments arising in the segment – such as the implementation of a television programming model based on national and international partnerships, investments to bring international channels to Brazil, and the development of the independent production scene in the country, the executive was key to giving Globosat outright leadership in the Brazilian market.
