Pooling efforts among producers to optimize resources in co-productions seems to be the ideal approach in the current industry context to develop numerous stories. This was shared with ttvnews by Adriana Castillo, General Coordinator of Platino Industria and Manager of Institutional Relations at Egeda Mexico, during the second day of Content Americas.
“We’ve seen that co-production is a way to develop many stories, optimize financial contributions, leverage each country’s incentives, and highlight talent. How does one co-produce? By meeting people, understanding the needs of each market, and, most importantly, attracting potential investors or creators who can help bring your project to fruition,” said Castillo.
Understanding this, Egeda is committed to providing producers with the necessary spaces and resources. “Producers are the backbone and strength of Egeda, a collective management organization whose goal is to create spaces for training, development, guidance, and bringing together all the key players in the film and audiovisual industry alongside producers from Latin America and Spain,” Castillo explained.
The Egeda executive emphasized that their mission is to foster business opportunities, develop stories, attract investors, and, most importantly, learn alongside industry leaders shaping market trends. “Both on streaming platforms and in commercial cinema, we want to understand what’s happening in this ecosystem. The ultimate goal is to create stories for producers every year,” she concluded.
