A Fábrica Brasil, part of Banijay Americas, today unveils its expanded genre-spanning slate across cinema, television and global streaming platforms, alongside the latest development with a new sitcom for Globo.
Created by Marcelo Andrade and directed by Gigi Soares, the as yet untitled comedy marks the next chapter in A Fábrica’s long-standing partnership with the channel.
Alongside this project, A Fábrica Brasil has two titles in partnership with Netflix. The contemporary comedy, As Crianças Estão de Volta (WT) follows a couple who relocate in search of a fresh start, only to have their plans derailed when their adult children unexpectedly move back home. The business will also deliver feature film A Estranha na Cama to the streamer, a psychological thriller created by bestselling author Raphael Montes. The story follows a couple who decide to open their relationship, triggering a dangerous chain of eroticism, secrets and unforeseen consequences.
Extending its collaboration with Montes, the company is also developing Uma Mulher no Escuro for Globoplay. Adapted from the award-winning novel, the series follows a woman forced to confront her violent childhood trauma when it resurfaces years later.
As A Fábrica continues to strengthen its comedy pipeline, Vai Que Cola, one of the most successful sitcoms in Brazilian pay-tv history, will conclude with its final season in 2026, closing a remarkable 14 years on-air.
Rounding out the television slate, the scripted series Galera F.C. returns for its second season later this year on HBO Max, expanding its narrative universe with new storylines and characters.
On the big screen, A Fábrica recently released Very Special Agents (Agentes Muito Especiais) and is preparing several upcoming premieres, including Mission: 171 (Missão: 171), a comedy starring Maurício Manfrini and Fabiana Karla, and O Verão da Lata, led by Samantha Schmutz. Inspired by a true story, the latter revisits one of Brazil’s most curious counterculture moments, when thousands of cans of marijuana mysteriously washed up on the country’s beaches.
Luiz Noronha, MD & CCO of A Fábrica says: “We are incredibly proud of our slate this year, which showcases the talent and originality which defines A Fábrica Brasil. With an active, genre-rich pipeline, we continue to reinforce our position as an influential creative force in the region, built on strong IP, exceptional talent and strategic partnerships.”
Under the leadership of partners Luiz Noronha, Cecilia Grosso, Samanta Moraes, and Alberto Elias, A Fábrica Brasil has established itself among the leading creators and producers, developing series and films for TV, cinema, and streaming platforms, including Netflix phenomenon Desperate Lies.
