Asacha comprises eight distinct and individually successful scripted, non-scripted, and feature film labels.

Fremantle announced that it had completed the acquisition of world-leading production studio Asacha Media Group (Asacha) and its impressive portfolio of award-winning labels based in France, Italy, and the U.K. With this transaction, Fremantle acquires the Group from Asacha’s founding partners and managers, and Oaktree Capital Management, L.P. manages funds.

Asacha comprises eight distinct and individually successful labels in scripted, non-scripted, and feature films. These labels are Kabo Family, Mintee, and Srab Films in France; Picomedia and Stand By Me in Italy; and Arrow Media, Red Planet Pictures, and Wag in the U.K.

Andrea Scrosati, COO and CEO of Fremantle Group Continental Europe, has led the acquisition of Asacha. It underlines Fremantle’s strategic plan to invest in and develop top-tier production companies and creative talent worldwide.

Headquartered in Paris, France, Asacha will continue to be led by Group co-founder and CEO Gaspard de Chavagnac, who will report to Andrea Scrosati. Gaspard de Chavagnac will continue to be supported by Marina Williams as Asacha’s Chief Content Officer. Asacha’s portfolio of award-winning brands in France, Italy, and the U.K. will continue to report to Gaspard de Chavagnac.

Asacha’s multi-award winning international I.P. slate includes: Death in Paradise and Beyond Paradise (Red Planet Pictures, BBC One); Mare Fuori and La Storia (Picomedia, Rai 1); Saint-Omer (Srab Films); Cimetiere Indien (Mintee Studio, Canal Plus France); Don’t Pick up the Phone (Wag, Netflix / Paramount); Instagram’s Worst Con Artist (Wag, ITVX); See no Evil (Arrow Media, Discovery ID); Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom (Arrow Media, Disney+ / Nat Geo); It’s Lunch Time (Stand By Me, Rai1); Diaries (Stand by Me, Netflix); Scènes de Ménages (Kabo) and General Men (Stand by Me, Rai 1).

Fremantle’s existing businesses in the regions in which Asacha operates include Talkback, Thames, Naked, Label 1, Euston Films, Dancing Ledge Productions, Wildstar Films and 72 Films (U.K.); Fremantle France, Kwaï (France) and Fremantle Italy, The Apartment Pictures, Wildside and Lux Vide (Italy). The agreement will not affect these companies; they will continue operating and reporting to the current Fremantle structure.
