The series stars Damián Alcázar and Paulina Gaitán and is directed by Ernesto Contreras.
In ten episodes, this police thriller tells the story of Pascual, a man diagnosed with early Alzheimer’s disease who, before losing his memory, decides to seek justice for a past crime. On his quest, he comes across Jimena, an investigator who is pursuing leads on mysterious deaths.
The series thriller garners quality actors to portray the lead characters and supporting cast. Damián Alcázar, decorated Mexican actor garnering numerous accolades from the Mexican Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, leads the cast as Pascual. Throughout his career, his accolades include eight Ariel awards, with leading roles in successful series and films such as A Wonderful World, The Perfect Dictatorship, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, The Dandy, and Narcos amongst others.
Actress and singer Paulina Gaitán plays Jimena began her acting career at just 12 years old. She has participated in several international films and series such as Cappadocia, Narcos, and The Good Girls, where she received an Ariel Award nomination in the category of Best Supporting Actress. Her achievements also include Mr. Ávila, the Emmy-winning program for best series in 2017, and she starred in Devil Guardian for two seasons.
El Asesino del Olvido will be directed by film director and screenwriter Ernesto Contreras. Among his most celebrated films are Blue Eyelids, Keep Growing: Café Tacuba and I Dream in Another Language, winner of the Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival, and Ariel award for best film. Under his direction, Contreras led successful series such as El Chapo, Everyday Heroes, and Falco, which won the 2019 International Emmy® Awards for Best International Series.
El Asesino Del Olvido will begin filming throughout Mexico in February concluding in mid-April. Alebrije is the production company in charge, led by Monica Lozan, who is recognized for her work in the acclaimed films Amores Perros and No Returns Accepted.
Şahsiyet, the original version from Turkey, debuted in 2018 and quickly became an audience favorite. In 2019, the series garnered various international awards and nominations from the Berlin TV Series Festival, European Cinematography Awards, and MedyaTablet Awards for best web series stand out. As the lead actor of the series, Haluk Bilginer, received the International Emmy® award for Best Actor for his work in the thriller.
