The event took place at Temple House in Miami Beach, to shine a light on the achievements of gifted writers, producers, directors, and actors who have played a role in the triumphs of the Turkish audiovisual industry
On Monday, January 22nd, ahead of the start of a new edition of Content Americas, Universal Cinergia hosted the highly-anticipated Turkish Drama Gala.
Held at Temple House in Miami Beach, the event gathered executives from Latin America, Turkey, Spain, USA and US Hispanic, including broadcasters, distributors, channels, content producers, writers, actors from the successful productions, press and industry colleagues.
The Gala celebrated the success of Turkish content in Latin America and worldwide, paying homage to the exceptional Turkish content by showcasing a diverse display of productions that have had a significant impact and influence on the industry.
Hosted by distinguished journalist Lourdes Stephen, who co-hosts Telemundo’s acclaimed newsmagazine Al Rojo Vivo, the event shone a spotlight on the achievements of gifted writers, producers, directors, and actors who have played a role in the triumphs of the Turkish audiovisual industry. Their hard work and dedication have helped make Turkish content a force to be reckoned with in the global entertainment industry. The event explored the evolution of Turkish content in Latin America since its launch in 2013 with the title 1001 Nights.
To this end, the event welcomed many bright stars from the world’s most successful Turkish dramas, including Baris Kilic (Forbbiden Fruit, One Love), Yigit Kocak (For My Family), Lizge Comert (For My Family), Neslihan Atagül and Kadir Doğulu (Poison Ivy), among others.
Alongside the display of outstanding Turkish drama, the event featured a Recognition Award Ceremony to pay homage to all the professionals who have contributed to this success story, including distributors such as ATV, Calinos, Eccho Rights, Global Agency, Inter Medya, Kanal D, Madd Entertainment, Mediahub, MISTCO, OGM Pictures, Raya Distribution, Saran Studios, TRT; as well as buyers, producers and actors.
Attendees also enjoyed a special performance by acclaimed Turkish singer song-writer Murat Evgin.
The Turkish Drama Gala was backed by the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish Chamber of Commerce, and sponsored by ATV, Calinos, Kanal D Drama, MISTCO, Turkish Airlines, Dint and Film Dub Factory.
