The Turkish drama is now licensed for broadcast in Romania and is expected to sign more deals after its success at Mipcom.
Safir was acquired by Antena TV shortly after its presentation at Mipcom in October. ATV Distribution has now announced the first international sale of the Turkish drama to Romanian audiences.
Due to its success, new sales deals are expected as the drama grows in ratings, creating a local fan community.
The story of Safir revolves around the life of one of Cappadocia’s most prominent families -the Gulsoy family- which is finally reunited after a long period apart from the arrival of the eldest son, Ates, from America.
Feraye and Yaman have been in love with each other since they were children, but they have kept their feelings hidden from everyone. On Feraye’s birthday, Yaman’s brother Okan accidentally becomes involved in a crime, which turns everyone’s life upside down. Yaman will be compelled to marry Aleyna to protect his brother. Meanwhile, Ates will marry Feraye to reunite his family and safeguard Feraye’s son.
