Distribution and production company CDC United Network is bringing important releases to the Hispanic American market, including action, horror, romance, family and animation.
After years of experience in Latin America, CDC United Network, the distribution and production company based in Belgium, is currently positioned as an undisputed provider of films with genres as versatile as action, comedy, horror, family and animation.
In addition to the annual industry events, with the pandemic now behind us, returning to different territories is crucial in a market saturated with content, where getting the attention of acquisition and programming executives is not an easy task.
In this scenario, Jimmy van der Heyden, CDC United Network Sales Manager; went on a strategic tour of Mexico, Colombia and Argentina, prior to the LA Screenings Independents.
“It was time to return to some territories where we really felt that there was a need to travel to move situations along, get answers and close deals,” he explained to ttvnews.
“I had time to present the content, talk more in depth and find out what the real interests are. Getting together with clients gives me the opportunity to defend the content. Because the issue that usually happens is that there is a lot of content on the market, and it is difficult for the programmers who receive the listings. There is an ocean of content to choose from! And in that sense, the tour has been very useful. I am coming back with confirmations and well-advanced negotiations,” he added.
This tour covers free-to-air and pay TV channels, as well as local streaming platforms, leaving a very good impression regarding the company’s distribution plans in the region.
“I feel that we are not making a mistake with the content that we acquire and put in the Latin American market. The reactions of the clients are very positive. On the other hand, the region is very dynamic, it is constantly changing, there are mergers, changes of directives. Being close to people and having more time allows you to know the status of the channel or the platform that you are talking to”, he explained.
With a clearer picture, and a few days before the event at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles, to which will be added the occasional trip throughout the year to visit other territories in the region, the company’s course seems to be consolidated.
For this edition of LA Screenings Independents, CDC will continue to present titles such as The Three Musketeers: D’Artagnan, a film that premiered in theaters on April 20, and for which they are already in advanced negotiations.
In addition, the offer includes titles that work in all operating windows such as: Paradise City, with Bruce Willis and John Travolta; Jeepers Creepers: Reborn, with great performance on platforms; Mia and Me; and Around the World in 80 Days, among others.
“We are a one-stop-shop that offers comedy, action, animation, but also arthouse cinema and award-winning films for niche channels, generalists. And this is one more opportunity for clients to get to know our library of high-level commercial content,” he concluded.
