Both dramas will return with new seasons on Kanal 7.
Daily drama series Redemption and Legacy have both been renewed for new seasons by Turkish broadcaster Kanal 7.
Redemption premiered in November 2022 and has risen to become the top rated series in the daily drama segment in Turkey. Its second season will start in September.
Legacy had previously held the number one ranking since 2020, and continues strongly in second place today. Its new season will be its fourth, bringing the series to more than 1000 episodes by spring 2024.
“The daily drama space is fiercely competitive in Turkey, with at least 8 currently in production and airing across the major broadcasters each week. We are very proud to be representing the top two titles in this genre, and international buyers are lining up to acquire these long running, ratings-winning dramas,” says Handan Özkubat, Director of Turkish Drama at international distributor Eccho Rights.
Legacy and Redemption are both produced by Karamel Yapim, who have a proven track record with daily drama titles. Series including Prisoner of Love and The Promise having achieved incredible widespread success, and Legacy has already sold to more than 40 territories worldwide.
Redemption (original title: Esaret): Oğuz is a successful businessman, raised in a wealthy but loveless family. His sister Nurşah left home to do volunteer work in Eritrea but is currently unreachable. Oğuz decides to look for his sister and comes across Firuze, a poor girl who’s been trafficked. After finding out Nurşah was poisoned and killed by Firuze on the behalf of the traffickers, Oğuz breaks down. He hatches an evil plan to take Firuze home with him, but rather than saving her he will make things even worse…
Legacy (original title: Emanet): After Kevser’s death, Seher promises to take care of her nephew Yusuf – who lives with his uncle Yaman. Initially suspicious of Seher, an unlikely romance blossoms between the two. They look to build a new family for Yusuf – when tragedy strikes again…In the third season, as Yaman and Yusuf try to rebuild their lives, a mysterious, beautiful stranger arrives on their doorstep.
