The sales manager of the Mexican group spoke with ttvnews in Cannes about the return of the drama to international markets and her expectations for the internationalization of its star production.
Present at Miptv in Cannes, Dulce Ávila and Melissa Pillow are representing the wide catalog of TV Azteca, with a particular emphasis on the drama genre.
“We are very happy to be here at Miptv,” Dulce Avila, TV Azteca Sales Manager, told ttvnews. “We returned to Miptv last year and this year we have consolidated our participation in this market. For us it is an important market to have meetings with our clients in Europe.”
“We are presenting dramas, fiction, which is what stands out here at MIP. We have content focused on crime, standalone titles, such as the new season of Lo que callamos las mujeres. There is a very particular interest in the format. It is interesting how Europe is is opening up the possibility of producing unitary formats”, highlighted the executive.
With more than 3,000 cases that have been transmitted over 20 years, Lo que callamos las mujeres has obtained dozens of awards from various institutions at the national and international level. It has been broadcast throughout 56 countries and on 4 of the 5 continents: America, Africa, Asia and Europe.
Today under the leadership of Adrián Ortega, the series is renewed and transformed to respond to a more demanding reality, with a greater presence in the media and more powerful voices.
“We have had many meetings focused on drama. We hope to close many deals this year,” the executive concluded.
