Raised in a humble neighborhood of Istanbul, Iffet is deeply in love with Cemil, a handsome taxi driver with whom she secretly sees, since her father has forbidden her to see any man until she is married. Meanwhile, the young woman dreams of the day when he asks her to marry him to start a family. However, Cemil gives her various excuses for not getting married yet, without sharing her great dream with her: to become rich one day to leave behind the middle-class neighborhood in which he lives. To help her family and save some money for her future wedding, Iffet starts working as a clerk at the residence of Ali Ihsan Ersoy, one of the most powerful businessmen in the country. One day, during the wedding of some friends, Cemil, drunk and out of control, rapes Iffet. Traumatized, the young woman discovers a month later that she is pregnant. However, Betul, the daughter of the owner of the taxi company where Cemil works, manages to get him to commit to her. Meanwhile, Iffet’s father disowns her daughter after learning of her pregnancy, she swears revenge on Cemil, and her fate gives her a new chance when Ali Ihsan asks him to marry her.
