The Finnish distributor’s sales executive spoke to ttvnews at Content Americas about the products she is presenting at the event, including new series that seek screens in the region.
Armed with a catalog of its always-successful documentaries and a renewed commitment to fiction series, YLE came to Content Americas looking to forge new relationships with Latin audiences.
“YLE came to Content Americas 2023 for the first time to see our Latin American clients who we already know, and to meet new ones,” Maria Kivinen, Sales Manager of the Finnish distributor, told ttvnews.
“In this market we have had very good meetings, especially with US Hispanic and new platforms to see new business opportunities in VOD.”
“The expectations are to have new relationships in LatAm and US Hispanic, especially for our series. We have already done a lot with documentaries but we want to find spaces for our series,” she added.
Thus, YLE is introducing its new series, a spy thriller called Stop Nyqvist, as the star of the catalogue. “Also a lot of science documentaries, about the future of food. Political documentaries, nature and young adult series for the platforms,” she concluded.
