In dialogue with ttvnews at Content Americas, Erik Jensen and Jimmy van der Heyden presented their new major films, The Three Musketeers franchise, and revealed details about three original projects already in development in Latin America.
CDC United Network was present in Miami with one of the most anticipated films of the year, not only in Latin America but internationally.
The company is presenting the first two installments in the saga of The Three Musketeers, a franchise that is expected to reach six films, with the first two being released this year.
“The star product for us is the Three Musketeers franchise that we came to present here in Miami. It is a great pride to be able to offer these new films to the Latin American market”, Jimmy van der Heyden, Director of International Sales for CDC United Network, said to ttvnews.
“It’s an epic production in size, quality, and production. It is also a very famous story around the world, an IP with a lot of potential. And the fact of having the franchise with two films already made and that both can be released in the same year,” he added.
The first, based on the character of D’Artagnan, will be released in theaters throughout the region this April, while the second, which focuses on the character of Milady, will be released in December.
In addition, the distributor is bringing other big releases, including new action movies like Liam Neeson’s latest film, Retribution; Paradise City, with John Travolta and Bruce Willis; and others like November, which recounts the events of the terrorist attack in Paris in 2015; in addition to successful animations.
“Based on high-quality content, we can only do well, so we look to the future with great optimism,” said the executive.
And to complement its catalog of acquisitions, the group continues its commitment to original production, with its first films already in development.
“We are also in the process of producing our first films. We have a movie that is about to start filming in Mexico. We cannot give more details yet, but really the projects are not so much projects but already realities. There is a movie that is about to be shot and we have two more in development. The idea is to start filming these two also in 2023”, said the director.
“So those are the latest news and we want to move forward with content production in LatAm. We started with Mexico but we are open to other projects. Obviously we have the territory of Brazil on the list, but any good project that is presented we will receive it”, he concluded.
