On Tuesday, September 6, Univision premiered the epic remake of the hit telenovela Los ricos también lloran in a two-hour special event that reached 2.7 million Total Viewers 2+ (source: Nielsen), who tuned in to all or part of the telecast from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET.
The premiere of Los ricos también lloran made Univision the No. 2 network on all of television, regardless of language in the 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. time period, outperforming CBS, NBC, FOX, The CW and all cable networks among Adults 18-34 as well as the number 3 network ahead of CBS, FOX, The CW and all cable networks with Adults 18-49.
Also for this night Univision was the top Spanish-language network in the time period and for the entire night with double-to-triple digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
The special averaged 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+, 595,000 Adults 18-49 and 245,000 Adults 18-34 and was the fourth most-watched program on all of television with more Adult 18-49 and Adult 18-34 viewers than the first-run episode of ABC’s Claim To Fame, FOX’s special airing of TMZ Investigates Who Really Killed Michael Jackson as well as the entire original primetime line-up on The CW (Leonardo and Devils).
