The company announced it’s premiering Colombian series Ruido capital, which will become its second original production in Latin America.
During the last edition of Miptv, Spanish company Telefonica revealed its plans to produce original series in Latin America, which will begin to materialize with its upcoming premieres.
In late May, Movistar presented Un dia eres joven, a Peruvian production which will premiere in September and become its first original series in Latin America.
And now, the company announced that Ruido capital, shot in Bogota, will premiere on November.
Produced by Fidelio Films for Movistar, Ruido capital will have six 30-minute episodes directed by Argentine director Ana Katz and Pablo Stoll from Uruguay.
It will star Jerónimo Aguilar and Oriana Casa, with Spain’s Paco León. The cast is completed by Paloma Bautista, Simón Barquero, Germán Becerra, Marcela Vanegas, Oscar Rodo, Diana Wiswell and Margalida Castro.
Created by Mauricio Leiva-Cock, who’s also executive producer, the series is set in the 90s in Bogota and is described as a comedy about adolescence and music.
It began filming in July and will run through August. It will be available for Movistar Series and Movistar Play’s 85 million clients in Chile, Peru, Colombia, Argentina, Ecuador and Mexico.
The company also confirmed a third project in Latin America: Peru’s El dia de mi suerte, set in the 1986 crisis, about salsa singer Hector Lavoe’s meeting with a die hard fan.
