TelevisaUnivision’s SVOD platform will launch on July 21 in the US and Latin America, offering original series, exclusive premieres and live sports, for US$6.99 in the US and MX$119 in Mexico.
TelevisaUnivision announced today that ViX+ will launch on July 21 in the United States, Mexico and most Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America with a monthly price of US$6.99 in the United States and MX$119 in Mexico.
ViX+ is the premium tier of ViX, the world’s first large-scale streaming service created specifically for the Spanish-speaking world that launched last March, and will give subscribers access to the most extensive premium content in Spanish ever offered by an SVOD service, with more than 10,000 hours of premium, ad-free entertainment programming in its first year and up to 7,000 hours of live sports.
Consumers in the United States, Mexico and most Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America will be able to enjoy more than 70 ViX+ Original series and movies in the first year, which represents an average of at least one original premiere per week.
When it launches, the platform will offer original series such as María Félix, la doña, La mujer del diablo, and Mi vecino el cartel, which is executive produced by Selena Gómez. ViX+ subscribers will also be able to catch international premieres of highly anticipated films coming exclusively to ViX+ in July, including Mirreyes vs. Godínez 2, El Retiro and Enfermo amor.
The platform will also offer exclusive premieres of international films and the main premium sporting events, including more than 3,000 live matches each year.
Subscribers in the United States, Mexico and Latin American countries where the service is offered will have the opportunity to enjoy ViX+ through a free 7-day trial period. ViX+ will be available on all major platforms including Apple iOS and tvOS, Android mobile and Android TV OS devices, and all major streaming devices, TVs and online at vixplus.com. More platforms will be announced soon.
“ViX+ will offer premium produced stories, raising the standards of content in Spanish,” said Pierluigi Gazzolo, President and Chief Transformation Officer of TelevisaUnivision.
“With the launch of ViX+, Spanish-speaking audiences will finally have a subscription streaming service with content that authentically reflects our cultures. ViX and ViX+ complement each other to provide the most extensive streaming service in Spanish in the world, with more than 50,000 hours of content and two experiences in a single application, filling an important space in a world with almost 600 million Spanish speakers”.
