Selina Nederhand has been named SVP and Co-Networks Head of Content Strategy, while Luis Sabal was named the division’s Head of Revenues. In addition, Francisco Rivera was named Head of Emerging Business for Latin America.
Sony Pictures Television (SPT) Latin America has unveiled a new co-leadership networks management structure with two leaders -one in content strategy and one in revenue- who will collaborate in managing SPT’s channels in the region.
John Rossiter, EVP, Distribution & Networks, Latin America, announced the changes, which are effective July 1st.
Selina Nederhand, who has been overseeing content acquisitions for networks, distribution and original productions for networks, will be SVP and Co-Networks Head of Content Strategy. Nederhand will take on additional responsibilities with programming, scheduling, media planning and business affairs for networks reporting into her.
Luis Sabal, most recently VP of Ad Sales for Latin America, is being promoted to SVP and Co-Networks Head of Revenues. Sabal will continue to manage ad sales and brand partnerships and innovations for the region, while taking on additional responsibilities for affiliate sales and traffic.
In addition, Francisco Rivera has joined the company in the newly created role of Head of Emerging Business for Latin America. Rivera is responsible for identifying new digital opportunities and will oversee all technology efforts for the digital business as well as tech ops. Rivera has extensive experience in developing new businesses from his previous roles at Wizeline, NBC Universal – where he worked for 11 years on growing emerging business and the digital portfolio – and Univision, among others.
“This new structure, an extension of the strategy initiated last September, will enable SPT Latin America to be more nimble, better position us to address evolving market forces and, most importantly, build on the great work the team has already done to increase collaboration across our businesses. I’m excited to work with Selina, Luis and Francisco in their new roles,” said Rossiter.
Nederhand, Sabal and Rivera are all based in Miami and report to Rossiter. SPT Latin America’s network portfolio includes AXN, the #1 (non-sports) pay TV channel across Latin America; Sony Channel; and the recently launched Sony Movies, Latin America’s destination for blockbuster Sony Pictures films.
