The Spanish production company will develop and produce films and series for VIS, aimed at Hispanic markets.
VIS, Paramount’s international studio, announced an exclusive first look deal with the renowned Spanish production company Morena Films.
The company will develop and produce films and series for the Paramount catalogue, mainly for the Spanish-speaking markets of Latin America, Spain and the US.
The agreement extends the successful collaboration between Morena Films and VIS in Spain and Americas, which currently produce the series Las Invisibles. The Spanish production company, responsible for successful films such as the award-winning Champions, Todos lo Saben and Bajocero, and series such as Diablero, will be in charge of the development and production of films, series and miniseries with talents from Europe and America, destined for the extensive glocal catalog of Paramount.
“We are proud to expand our alliance with Morena Films, a leading production company with whom we currently collaborate on Las Invisibles. In VIS’s goal to nurture Paramount’s international catalog of Spanish-language content for our global audiences, expanding our agreement with Morena Films was the logical step,” said Laura Abril, Senior VP and Head of VIS EMEA and Asia.
“We are delighted to announce this agreement with Morena Films, one of the best producers of films and series, as part of our strategy to partner with the best talent from around the world,” said Federico Cuervo, Senior VP and Head of VIS Americas. “This alliance consolidates our position as one of the leading studios in the production of content in Spanish.”
“We are very pleased to expand our collaboration with the VIS teams both in Spain and in Latin America, with whom we have an excellent relationship, it has been a kind of ‘love at first sight’. For Morena Films, this agreement with Paramount Global was the next step to continue producing global content for audiences around the world, something that has been part of our DNA from the beginning,” said Pilar Benito, CEO of Morena Films.
This collaboration reinforces VIS’ international strategy of extensive collaboration with leading international production companies such as Gaumont, El Deseo, Cattleya, 100 Bares Productions, 11:11 Films & TV and Indigo, among many others; as well as for the development of projects together with renowned talents and creators such as Paco Cabezas, Juan José Campanella, Santiago Segura, Frida Torresblanco, Marc Anthony, Diego Boneta, Manolo Cardona and Luis Gerardo Méndez.
