Channel 5 drama Compulsion has been licensed to Paramount+, to debut exclusively as an Original scripted series in Australia, LatAm and the Nordics by international distributor Eccho Rights.
Produced by LA Productions in association with Eccho Rights, Compulsion is a thrilling family drama that follows Jenny, a woman on the verge of losing everything, who meets a stranger who seems to have the answers to her problems. But just how far is Jenny prepared to go to save her family?
“Compulsion is a gripping thriller, but with a human story at its core, and though Jenny finds herself in an extraordinary situation, international audiences will easily relate to her predicament of just wanting the best for her family,” said Lucy Roberts, Director of Sales, Western Europe at Eccho Rights.
Jenny is played by Leanne Best (Cold Feet, Young Wallander). Compulsion also stars Anna Chancellor (The Watch, The Hour, Four Weddings and a Funeral) and the Oscar winner Hayley Mills (Pollyanna, Pitching In).
The series is written by Sarah Deane (Moving On, Clink) directed by Noreen Kershaw (Call the Midwife) and produced by Donna Molloy for LA Productions. Executive Producers are Colin McKeown (LA Productions), Sebastian Cardwell (Channel 5), and Adam Barth and Nicola Söderlund (Eccho Rights).
