The biopic about Mexican singer Vicente Fernández will premiere on the US Hispanic network on May 17.
Univision announced the premiere date for El Último Rey: El Hijo del Pueblo, the anticipated bioseries about music legend Vicente Fernández starring Mexican singer and actor Pablo Montero.
El Último Rey: El Hijo del Pueblo, by the renowned TV producer Juan Osorio, will premiere in the U.S. on May 17 at 10 p.m. ET on Univision.
From his humble beginnings to his rise to fame and everything in between, El último rey: el hijo del pueblo tells the aspirational story of the life and legacy of Vicente Fernández, the King of Ranchera music. Audiences will relive Fernandez’s most important moments in life, including events that defined him, his great love story, personal tragedies, and the sacrifices he made that turned him into the beloved cultural icon he became.

Osorio has produced more than 27 series and melodramas including Soltero con hijas (Single with Daughters), Mi marido tiene familia (My Husband Has a Family), ¿Qué le pasa a mi familia? (What Happens to My Family?), and more.
The star-studded cast includes Angélica Aragón, Iván Arana, Iliana Fox, Pablo Montero, Jesús Moré, Emilio Osorio, Salvador Sánchez, and Vince Miranda.
