Doctor Portuondo, the first original series from the Spanish SVOD service Filmin, premiered on October 29, becoming one of the platform’s biggest hits.
As revealed from Filmin, in its first three days it managed to register more views than any other series in Filmin’s history in the same period of time.
In addition, if movies are also added to the equation, Doctor Portuondo has become the third best premiere of 2021 only behind The Assistant and Cosmética del enemigo.
The series, created and directed by Carlo Padial, and starring Jorge Perugorría and Nacho Sánchez, has also received the majority applause from the Spanish press, who “have valued the genuineness of the proposal and its ability to move between different genres and tones, offering the viewer a unique experience”.

Doctor Portuondo is the audiovisual adaptation of the homonymous novel written by Carlo Padial and edited by Blackie Books in 2017. The script is by Carlo Padial himself, accompanied by Carlos de Diego.
