The Spanish format was the only Hispanic content chosen by The Wit for this year’s selection, where Europe was the main source of titles.
TV consultancy firm The Wit revealed its classic selection of the freshest formats on the market this Monday in Cannes during its Fresh TV Formats conference.
The list was almost completely dominated by European content, with only a few exceptions from South Korea, the US and Israel.
In total, Europe had 21 formats selected from the 25 announced. And within Europe, the UK dominated with six formats followed by the Netherlands with four and Belgium with three.
As for the Hispanic world, only Spain was able to make an appearance with the A simple vista (Naked Eye Game) format, distributed by Mediterráneo and which will make its debut in 2022 on Cuatro in Spain.
The format features contestants who have to guess data such as the country of origin, profession or age of strangers just by looking at them and from a series of options that will be presented to them.
