The companies were already co-developing and co-producing premium fiction series. Now their alliance extends to unscripted content.

In April of last year, Mexican production company Dopamine announced an agreement with NENT Studios to co-finance, co-develop and co-produce fiction content in English.

From this agreement, Close to Me, a British fiction series based on the novel by Amanda Reynolds, has already come out and will be co-produced by NENT Studios UK and the Mexican company.

And now, both companies announced that their alliance will extend to unscripted content.

As detailed, it will be a co-development agreement by which Dopamine will co-commission programming with broadcasters and platforms from the United Kingdom.

Thus, NENT and Dopamine will seek to establish relationships with factual production companies with which they can jointly create “cost-effective and Covid-safe” formats, with priority for male documentary series and female factual entertainment content.

“NENT Studios UK and Dopamine have worked very well over the last few months. We have a similar style of doing business and a shared enthusiasm for content, so expanding our relationship to unscripted was a natural fit for both of us,” explained Adam Barth, Commercial Director of NENT Studios UK.

“We already work alongside several British producers of factual and factual entertainment and we are excited that the new investment that this alliance brings will allow us to work with many more,” he added.
