The executive was appointed as the new CEO of The Mediapro Studio.
The Mediapro Group announced this Wednesday the appointment of Laura Fernández Espeso as general director of The Mediapro Studio, the Group’s audiovisual content creation, production and distribution factory.
As head of the Studio, Fernández Espeso will direct the management and strategy of all the productions and production companies integrated in The Mediapro Studio.
Linked to the Group for more than a decade, she has been one of the promoters of the creation, in 2019, of The Mediapro Studio as a brand to include all the content creation units of the company.
With a trajectory of more than 20 years of experience in the production sector, the group has already produced mythical titles in the history of television in Spain such as Águila Roja, El Internado: Laguna Negra, Los Serrano, Un paso ahead (UPA), 7 vidas, Aída, Los hombres de Paco and a long etcetera until reaching the present moment.
Since the creation of The Mediapro Studio in 2019, Fernandez Espeso has been Corporate and Television Director, being responsible for the start-up of numerous fiction and entertainment projects around the world, including The Head, Kosta (The Paradise), Vis a Vis, Nasdrovia, Little Victoria, The Chef’s Disciple, Fernando, Six Dreams. Back to Win, Caminantes, El Ministerio del Tiempo or Vamos Juan, among others.
And currently in production are Fernando Alonso 2 (Amazon), El internado (Amazon), Paraíso (Movistar), Paco’s men (Antena3), I’m alive 4 (TVE), IOSI (Amazon), Las bravas (Turner) and Club 57 (Viacom), among others.
The Mediapro Studio has also made a strong return to film production with the films Rifkin’s Festival, by Woody Allen; Official competition, with Penélope Cruz and Antonio Banderas, directed by Gastón Duprat and Mariano Cohn, and The Good Patron, starring Javier Bardem and directed by Fernando León de Aranoa, the last two in post-production phase.
