Argentine series Broder was the only Hispanic winner in Canneseries, which crowned the Swedish Partisan as the Best Series.
The Canneseries Festival presented its third edition awards this Wednesday night, which crowned the Swedish series Partisan as the best series.
Produced by Warner Bros. ITVP Sverige AB and Johanna Wennerberg for Viaplay, Partisan was the big winner of the Canneseries and won against Chilean serie Dignity, the only representative of the Hispanic world in the category of best series.
The Argentine series Broder, meanwhile, won in the best short series category, the only recognition for Latin America or Spain.
Broder is a modern fiction that combines professional actors with references from the urban music scene, and tells a story set in real settings where the local bases of Argentine hip hop were born.
It premiered in October 2019 on TV Publica and can now be seen on the streaming platform CONT.AR.
The series was awarded at the Festival de Buenos Aires Series 2020 with the award for Best Music of the International Competition and was also selected for the Hip Hop Film Festival in New York 2020, the Seoul Web Fest 2020 and the Marsella Web Fest 2020.
The rest of the awards went to: Moloch (France) for best script, Top Dog (Sweden) for best music, Red Light (Netherlands-Belgium) for best cast and Polina Maksimova for best interpreter for her performance in the Russian 257 Reasons to Live.
