The ITV and BBC SVOD platform announced its expansion into 25 new territories, including countries in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and South America.

Originally launched in the US in 2017 and then in Canada, the UK and soon in Australia, SVOD platform BritBox, a joint venture between ITV and BBC, announced its international expansion into 25 new territories.

Although the names of the countries were not detailed, it was anticipated that they are from Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and South America.

“This international expansion will position BritBox as a rapidly growing global premium brand. The catalog with the best content catalog in the UK has already allowed the platform to grow rapidly in today’s territories and as streaming continues to grow worldwide this new launch will take our differentiating offering on a truly international scale,” said Carolyn McCall, CEO of ITV.

“BritBox has quickly found a place in the hearts of viewers and we know that there is even more appetite from international audiences who love British content. We are actively looking for new territories and very excited about the impending launch in Australia,” added Tim Davie, CEO of BBC Studios.

Recently, the platform reached its first million subscribers in the US and Canada, who pay $ 6.99 a month.
