This week, Deadline revealed the super series The Queen of the South will finally have a third season. And according to the report, it will be coproduced between Telemundo Global Studios and Netflix.
The series will air in the US and Puerto Rico on Telemundo, while Netflix will premiere it for the rest of the world.
Production is set to begin early next year, as long as the pandemic allows for it to start.
It will star Mexican actress Kate del Castillo once again, playing the role of Teresa Mendoza.
The Queen of the South is Telemundo’s most successful super series. Its first season premiered in 2011 and the second in 2019.
The series joins other new original productions Telemundo is preparing for the upcoming season, including Café con aroma de mujer, Buscando a Frida, El domo del dinero and Malverde, the Patron Saint.
