The Israeli distributor closed an agreement with Apple’s OTT, which acquired the global rights to the series.
Apple TV+ announced an agreement with Israeli company Dori Media Group for the acquisition of the Israeli drama Losing Alice.
As agreed, Apple TV+ will be the first global window for the series (except Israel).
Premiered on HOT in Israel, Losing Alice is a drama created, written and directed by Sigal Avin.
It tells the story of Alice (Ayelet Zurer), an ambitious 47-year-old film director who becomes obsessed with Sofía, a 24-year-old “femme-fatale” and who finally renounces her moral integrity to achieve limitless power, success and relevance .
Through the prism of this feminine Faust, the series explores themes such as guilt, jealousy, fear of aging, anger and the complex relationships that women have with each other. But above all, Losing Alice is a love letter for the – even to this day somewhat infrequent – female director, as reported by Dori.
“Losing Alice is an exciting cinematic journey that combines scenes from the past and the present into a satisfyingly confusing narrative that takes the viewer through the conscious and subconscious mind of its protagonist,” Dori Media said.
The series has eight episodes and will be seen worldwide later this year.
This acquisition becomes the third agreement announced by Apple TV+ related to Israel after its agreement to co-produce the thriller Tehran with Israel’s Cineflix Rights and Kan 11 and the acquisition of adaptation rights to Keshet’s False Flag.
