The president of VIMN Americas will be honored for his significant contributions to the Latin American media industry over the course of his career.
Pierluigi Gazzolo, president of Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) Americas and executive VP of Nickelodeon International, will receive the first Premio Ícono TV Latina award at the NATPE Miami.
The executive is being honored for his significant contributions to the Latin American media industry over the course of his career.
The award will be presented, in partnership with NATPE, during the conference’s annual Latin American Summit in Miami on January 23 following a one-on-one discussion with World Screen’s group editorial director, Anna Carugati.
Gazzolo is responsible for driving the ongoing expansion of VIMN’s portfolio across Latin America, including networks (among them MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central and Paramount Channel), the Noggin and Pluto TV businesses and Viacom International Studios.
During his tenure VIMN acquired Telefe and Porta dos Fundos and dramatically expanded its content creation efforts in the region. He also serves as the Nickelodeon brand lead for all markets outside of the U.S., with oversight of its centralized programming, marketing, creative, consumer products and international program sales teams.
“Pierluigi has long been at the forefront of driving innovation in the Latin American media sector,” said Ricardo Guise, the president and publisher of World Screen. “We’re delighted to be working with JP Bommel and the team at NATPE to honor his achievements.”
“It is with great pleasure that we continue our long-standing collaboration with World Screen by helping to present Mr. Gazzolo with this well-deserved recognition,” said JP Bommel, President and CEO, NATPE.
“The Latin American Summit has become a major highlight and staple of our yearly Miami event, and we look forward to it growing even more with World Screen.”
Gazzolo has had a long career with the company, previously serving as president of MTV Networks Latin America, COO of MTV Networks International and COO of VIMN. Born in Italy and raised in El Salvador, Gazzolo speaks English, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese fluently.
