Brazilian producer bolsters slate with adaptation of crime writer Raphael Montes’ award-winning novel.
Media and entertainment group Banijay Entertainment today announces a Globoplay greenlight for Uma Mulher no Escuro, from its Brazilian scripted label, A Fábrica.
Developed in partnership with Casa Montes, the premium psychological thriller is based on the award-winning novel by acclaimed Brazilian author Raphael Montes.
The announcement was made on stage at Iberseries in Madrid.
Winner of the Jabuti Literary Prize for Best Entertainment Novel, Uma Mulher no Escuro follows Victoria Bravo, a woman who witnessed the brutal murder of her family as a child. Twenty years later, while attempting to rebuild her life, she becomes convinced that the killer has returned, drawing her into a tense mystery in which those closest to her become suspects.
The project marks the latest collaboration between A Fábrica and Montes, following A Estranha na Cama, for Netflix.
