SIC’s Vitória is now officially starting its international journey and will soon be winning over Canadian audiences.
The telenovela is expected to premiere on Canada’s OMNI Television this November, following the success of Broken Promise and The Last Will, which are currently on air on the channel on weekday afternoon.
The deal marks an important milestone for the title, further strengthening SIC’s presence in the international market and highlighting the growing recognition of Portuguese storytelling as premium scripted content across diverse territories. The announcement comes as SIC prepares for MIPCOM, where its content sales team will showcase a new version of Vitória, now restructured into three seasons of 77, 39 and 24 episodes, respectively.
Adapted from the acclaimed Turkish series Gülperi from TIMS and Global Agency, the novela follows the story of Vitória as she discovers that her father-in-law, Manuel Mendonça, is a criminal willing to do anything for power. After her husband’s death, she tries to protect her children but ends up in prison and loses custody of the kids. Two years later, she gets out of jail determined to get them back. With the support of João, a brilliant lawyer and her first love, she will face Manuel Mendonça to win back her family and bring the truth to light.
Part of SIC International Distribution’s current catalogue, Vitória marked a milestone in SIC’s distribution strategy as the first drama to premiere through a multiplatform release in partnership with streaming player Disney+. The five weekly episodes are made available on Opto and Disney+ every Sunday ahead of their linear broadcast on SIC. The initiative reflects SIC’s continued focus on innovative distribution strategies and its successful investment in premium adaptations that combine powerful storytelling with broad international appeal.
At Europe’s largest TV market, the team is also showcasing a diverse slate of content, including its latest productions Chapters of Life, based on Pages of Life created by Manoel Carlos, a format licensed by TV Globo, and Broken Promise, based on the Turkish format Ruthless City, alongside a lineup of short-form series and factual content.
