The production and distribution company will be present at the October event with titles such as The Adventures of Akira and Mowgli, Little Mowgli, Young Achievers, Dragonero, and The Blue Boy Chronicles.
Kids content distributor and producer, Powerkids Entertainment, will once again be present at the upcoming edition of Mipcom and MIP Junior in Cannes, which will take place from October 10 to 16, with a catalog of major productions for young children.
The catalog begins with the universe of The Jungle Book, with the series The Adventures of Akira and Mowgli, the highly anticipated spin-off of the iconic story. The book has been opened again, and this time we read the pages that tell the stories of Akira, a girl from a nearby village who accidentally lands in the thick of the powerful Seonee jungle and finds herself in the jaws of the tiger Shere Khan. Mowgli is quite amused by Akira’s presence, but Baloo and Bagheera already know that with Akira’s footprints in the jungle, the problem will be twofold, as captured in a new action-adventure series The Adventures of Akira and Mowgli.
From the same universe also comes Little Mowgli, a prequel to The Jungle Book. Before becoming the brave and fierce warrior we all know and love, Mowgli was an adorable cub. The adventurous 3-year-old spent his days crawling through the vast Seonee Jungle, swinging on his first vine, leaping off his first cliff, and making his first friends (even those who, unbeknownst to him, wanted to eat him).
The catalog will also feature the animated series Young Achievers: Raider’s Quest. The genie is out of the bottle. A rogue AI has been unleashed upon the world as if it were a world on the brink of extinction. Hence the creation of the Rogue AI Detection + Emergency Response Service (RAIDERS), the world’s newest and most crucial international agency… and what they need are recruits!
In the adventure genre comes Dragonero (Tales of Paladins). This series is based on Sergio Bonelli’s hit comic and follows three friends as they confront an evil sorcerer to save their beautiful world. A classic adventure story with elements of comedy, action, and fantasy – a winning formula regardless of the region. Universal themes like friendship, fun, and teamwork work brilliantly and can resonate with viewers of all ages, adding depth to the series, which is further enhanced by impactful writing.
Last but not least, Powerkids will be presenting the recently announced The Blue Boy Chronicles, an animated series inspired by classical Indian mythology that aims to bring the story of Krishna to international audiences. The project is a co-production between Singapore-based PowerKids Entertainment and Las Vegas-based Cayenne Pepper Productions, and is intended for a global launch encompassing television, streaming, licensing, and consumer products.
The series reimagines Krishna not as a distant divine figure, but as a young hero who embarks on magical adventures while exploring themes such as friendship, identity, and responsibility. While rooted in Indian cultural tradition, the narrative approach is designed to resonate with international audiences.
