ViX MicrO, TelevisaUnivision’s short-form vertical content initiative, has completed its first year in operation, emerging as one of the company’s key bets to capitalize on the rapid growth of the microdrama format. Integrated within the ViX ecosystem, the platform combines high-speed production, a social-first distribution strategy and an AVOD business model to attract new audiences to the streaming service.
During its first year, ViX MicrO premiered 84 microstories and produced a total of 145 original titles, generating more than 326 million views on the platform.
Since its launch in July 2025, ViX MicrO has developed a production model tailored to mobile viewing. Each microstory, consisting of approximately 60 one-minute episodes, is produced in just five days, enabling the company to scale output while maintaining professional production standards.

The strategy reflects one of the fastest-growing trends in the global content business: the increasing demand for short-form, mobile-first storytelling and the use of social media as the primary discovery channel.
To drive audience acquisition, trailers and the first five episodes of each title are released across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube, encouraging viewers to continue watching the full story on ViX, where the content is available free through an advertising-supported (AVOD) model.
Among its most successful releases are The Return of the Runaway Heiress, The Revenge of the Toxic Girls, Finish Me Off and One Goal Away from Paradise, highlighting the continued appeal of romance, melodrama and suspense, now reimagined for the vertical-video format.
The operation has also mobilized a significant creative infrastructure. More than 600 actors have participated in ViX MicrO productions alongside over 60 writers, supported by dedicated directing, production and creative development teams.
Across social media, ViX MicrO has generated more than 1.3 billion views, built a community of 8.5 million followers and recorded over 24 million interactions, underscoring the role of social platforms as a key discovery engine for streaming services.
With these results, ViX MicrO reinforces TelevisaUnivision’s strategy of expanding its premium content offering into short-form storytelling, integrating the fast-growing microdrama trend into a business model that combines original production, multiplatform distribution and advertising-supported monetization.
