The companies are joint producers on the film Boulevard with Sony Pictures International and available now on Prime Video.
Webtoon Productions, the fan-driven studio and IP adaptation business of Webtoon Entertainment, and Spanish production company Espotlight, today announced a first-look deal to develop Spanish-language film and TV adaptations based on Spanish-language Wattpad webnovels.
Both companies are producers of the feature film Boulevard with Sony Pictures International, based on the Wattpad series of the same name with over 160 million reads. The film premiered across theaters in Spain, Latin America, and the U.S. in April 2026 and is now available to stream worldwide exclusively on Prime Video.
Espotlight was founded by Anxo Rodríguez in 2020 and is a leading producer of Spanishlanguage content around the world. Their Netflix film Cortafuego premiered in February 2026 and quickly reached No. 1 in over 30 countries including the U.S. Additional projects produced by Espotlight include Los Farad (Prime Video), You Would Do It Too (Disney+), and Dime Tu Nombre (Prime Video). Spanish-language fiction is one of the most popular categories on Wattpad, where a new generation of Hispanic authors are reaching fans all over the world.
Webtoon Productions has adapted a string of hit projects based on Spanish-language Wattpad webnovels, including Ariana Godoy’s A través de mi ventana (Netflix) and Sigue Mi Voz (Prime Video), Mala Influenica (Netflix), and the upcoming Perfectos Mentirosos (Prime Video). The A través trilogy was a global sensation for Netflix and the first film in the series was one of the streamer’s mostwatched non-English films for 18 cumulative weeks.
