Bela Bajaria, Chief Content Officer of Netflix, will receive the Variety Vanguard Award at MIPCOM 2026, in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the global television and entertainment industry.

Bajaria will accept the award during a keynote conversation at MIPCOM Cannes, where she is expected to discuss Netflix’s global content strategy, the evolution of streaming, and the company’s investment in local storytelling with worldwide appeal.

Since being appointed Chief Content Officer, Bajaria has overseen Netflix’s global programming strategy across series, films, documentaries, unscripted content, animation and live programming. Under her leadership, the company has expanded its international slate and strengthened its position as one of the world’s leading entertainment platforms.

Before becoming CCO, Bajaria led Netflix’s Global TV division, where she played a key role in the success of original productions from markets including Spain, South Korea, India, Latin America and Japan. Prior to joining Netflix, she served as President of Universal Television.

The Variety Vanguard Award has previously recognized some of the television industry’s most influential leaders, highlighting executives whose vision has shaped the future of global entertainment.

MIPCOM 2026 will take place in Cannes from October 13 to 16, bringing together executives, producers, distributors and buyers from across the international television and streaming industries.
