At the Prime Video Presents event held in Madrid, the platform unveiled 13 new original and licensed productions, along with updates and new seasons of highly anticipated titles.
Prime Video is celebrating its tenth anniversary in Spain with a wide range of new series, films, and entertainment programs that reinforce its commitment to local production and Spanish talent.
At the Prime Video Presents event held in Madrid, Prime Video reaffirmed its commitment to supporting stories that resonate with Spanish audiences. Stars such as Mario Casas, Ester Expósito, Anna Castillo, and Hugo Silva were present at the event, where Prime Video unveiled 13 new original and licensed productions, along with updates and new features on highly anticipated titles.
Prime Video has also revealed that its Spanish original productions have proven their ability to connect with audiences worldwide: Spanish originals are Prime Video’s largest export of non-English language productions, with franchises like Culpables surpassing 100 million viewers globally and inspiring an English-language film adaptation, while movies like Apocalipsis Z: El principio del fin and Zeta rank among the service’s most-watched titles internationally. Their global success reflects their local dominance: Reina Roja and Su Majestad are the two most-watched Spanish original series in Spain, while Zeta holds the record for the most-watched local original film in the country in the last calendar year.
“Ten years ago, we arrived in Spain and shortly after took our first steps producing films, series, and programs here,” said Nicole Clemens, Vice President and Head of International Originals at Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios. “Today, Spanish productions are not only captivating local audiences in Spain, but they also consistently rank highly in our global non-English language content rankings week after week, and that’s no coincidence: it’s the result of investing in local talent, in authentic stories that resonate here first and then travel the world. With the new projects we’re presenting today, such as Si los muertos hablaran and Cuando solo quedemos nosotros, we continue to strengthen our already exceptional catalog of Spanish productions.”
“We’ve been working closely with production companies, distributors, and television networks in Spain for a decade, and the relationship we have with the industry today is something we’re very proud of,” said Manuel Reverte, Head of Content Acquisition for Spain and Portugal. “Thanks to these partnerships, we can offer our clients films like Haciendo Amigos, which will be the summer’s big event in theaters, as well as innovative series and formats like Citas, which this year combines a theatrical release with an exclusive series premiere, the new installment of Pombo, and season 18 of La que se avecina. Ultimately, it’s all about offering our customers the best possible experience.”
Over the past ten years, Prime Video has established itself as a key player in the Spanish audiovisual industry, producing films, series, entertainment, and documentaries in collaboration with production companies, networks, and creators across the country. The streaming service has evolved since its launch into a comprehensive entertainment destination, offering series, films, live programs, additional subscriptions to other services, and the option to rent and buy titles, all in one place.
The Prime Video Presents stage brought together stars such as Mario Casas, Ester Expósito, Anna Castillo, Hugo Silva, Maribel Verdú, Antonio Resines, and Leonor Watling; directors like Dani de la Torre, Nacho Velilla, and Jesús Colmenar; and writers such as Juan Gómez-Jurado and Mercedes Ron. The presentation was hosted by Ruth Díaz, Vice President and General Manager of Amazon in Spain, along with Nicole Morganti, Head of Originals, Amazon MGM Studios, Southern Europe; María Contreras, Head of Original Spanish Series and Film Content; Oscar Prol, Head of Original Entertainment Content in Spain, Prime Video & Amazon MGM Studios; Manuel Reverte, Head of Content Acquisition in Spain and Portugal; and Luis Gómez, Head of TV Series Acquisition, Spain.

Original Fiction: Spanish Stories with a Global Approach
Prime Video has presented its new fiction offering in Spain, ranging from action thrillers to comedy, young adult, true crime, and new auteur projects.
Prime Video has confirmed that, following the success of the film Zeta, which has become the most-watched Spanish Original film in the last 365 days, the action-thriller will have a sequel. Dani de la Torre returns to direct, with Mario Casas and Luis Zahera reprising their roles.
In addition, Prime Video is adding the original film Si los muertos hablaran to its catalog, a whodunit that will be filmed this summer in Madrid and Kenya. Also joining the original fiction offering is Cuando solo quedemos nosotros, a new series based on the novel by Inés Garber. It will be directed by Samantha López and stars Judith Fernández and Pau Simón.
Apocalypse Z: A New World, the second installment of the saga based on the books by Manel Loureiro, expands the post-apocalyptic universe with more action and an ensemble storyline, arriving on Prime Video worldwide this Halloween. Directed by Carles Torrens and starring Carlos Alcaide, Julia Martínez, Mónica López, Tamara Casellas, and Santiago Vaca Narvaja.
Prime Video’s commitment to the Mercedes Ron universe continues to grow: Confrontados: Marfil, the first part of the duology directed by Oscar Pedraza and starring Ester Expósito and Hugo Diego García, will premiere on September 9 worldwide. In addition, the service has greenlit Dimelo con besos, the third and final installment that will complete the trilogy, before the release of the second film, Dimelo en secreto, which will arrive in early 2027. The saga stars Alicia Falcó, Fernando Líndez, and Diego Vidales.
It has also been confirmed that the Original film Perfectos mentirosos, based on the novel by Alex Mírez, which has amassed over 140 million reads on Wattpad, will premiere this November. The feature film is directed by Jesús Colmenar and stars Irene Balmes, Pau Simón, and Gleb Abrosimov.
Prime Video has released previews of new projects from acclaimed author Juan Gómez-Jurado, confirming that the first season of Reina Roja has become the most-watched Spanish Original series locally and announcing the premiere of the second season, an adaptation of the novel Loba Negra, on October 2nd of this year. In addition, Prime Video has presented previews of the new action-comedy film Todo Arde, directed by Samantha López Speranza and starring Aura Garrido, Victoria Teijeiro, and María Rodríguez Soto, which will be released in 2027.
Prime Video has also presented previews of its upcoming releases, such as the second season of the second most-watched Spanish Original series locally, Su Majestad, starring Anna Castillo, directed by Borja Cobeaga, and featuring new addition Leonor Watling.
