The Bachelor will launch in several territories including Serbia, Romania, and Bulgaria. Beyond its dating franchises, WBITVP also highlighted the continued growth of Cash or Trash, the format distributed by ZDF Studios.

At NEM Dubrovnik, Warner Bros. International Television Production (WBITVP) announced a new slate of deals across Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), further strengthening the presence of its leading entertainment formats in a region that continues to invest in proven international brands.

Among the most notable agreements is the launch of The Bachelor in Serbia, where Prva TV has commissioned the first local season of the hit dating format. With this new adaptation, Serbia becomes the 47th territory to produce the franchise. The local version will be produced by Emotion Productions and is set to begin filming later this month.

The brand’s expansion also extends to Romania, where Pro TV has commissioned the first season of Bachelor in Paradise, the spin-off that brings together contestants from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette in a tropical destination for a second chance at finding love.

The commission follows the successful launch of the format in Bulgaria, where broadcaster bTV aired a first season consisting of 65 episodes and has already confirmed a second installment. With these agreements, Bulgaria and Romania become the sixth and seventh international adaptations of Bachelor in Paradise, joining markets such as Germany, Australia, and Canada.

Beyond its dating franchises, WBITVP highlighted the sustained growth of Cash or Trash across the region. The format, distributed by ZDF Studios, launched local versions in Serbia and Croatia last year on Nova TV, while in Hungary and Poland it has already established itself as a long-running brand, with four seasons aired by TV2 Hungary and more than 500 episodes broadcast on TV4, part of the Polsat Group.

In addition, the Serbian adaptation recently launched its second season in May of this year.

“Central and Eastern Europe remains a vibrant market for international formats, with broadcasters seeking proven brands that can connect with local audiences while delivering scale and longevity,” said André Renaud, GVP, Format Sales and Finished Tape Sales at WBITVP.

“What is particularly encouraging is the breadth of demand we are seeing across the region, from major dating and reality franchises to factual entertainment formats that continue to secure recommissions. These commissions and renewals reflect both the strength of our catalogue and broadcasters’ confidence in these brands,” he added.

The deals were brokered by Reema Patel, Director of Formats at WBITVP.
