The international forum presented the awards for its four pitch competitions, with 26 finalist projects in the running.

Conecta Magaluf-Mallorca brought its penultimate day to a close with the awards ceremony, one of the most eagerly anticipated moments of the programme, which brought together leading figures from the national and international media sector.

A wide range of prizes, presented by leading companies and institutions, were awarded to projects participating in the four pitch sessions: Drama Series (drama series and miniseries), Comedy Series (comedy series and miniseries), Vertical Series (vertical microdramas designed for mobile-first consumption) and Direct to Streaming Movies (scripted feature films conceived for direct release on streaming platforms).

The prizes up for grabs covered a range of opportunities designed to boost the participating creative teams: from financial support for development and various production and post-production services, to access to other professional events collaborating with Conecta, which provide the winners with an even broader platform for visibility and international exposure.

As part of the Conecta Fiction Fest section, the Casal de Peguera auditorium hosted a special screening of Se tiene que morir mucha gente, an original Movistar Plus+ series that recently competed at Canneseries 2026 festival. Created by Victoria Martín based on her novel of the same name, the production, starring Anna Castillo, Macarena García and Laura Weissmahr, presented its first two episodes, followed by a discussion with its producer Oriol Maymó (from the prodco Corte y Confección de Películas).

The evening also included the presentation of the 2026 Conecta Honorary Award to John Hopewell, a British journalist based in Spain and International Features Editor at Variety, the historic American trade publication with over 120 years of experience reporting on global entertainment. Géraldine Gonard, director of Conecta Magaluf-Mallorca, presented the award to Hopewell in recognition of his exceptional contribution to international specialist journalism and his role as a leading figure in the coverage of the sector on a global scale. The veteran professional thus took centre stage in one of the most moving moments of this year’s event.
