Delving into the world of documentaries, Dori Media arrived in Los Angeles for a new edition of LA Screenings with the new global documentary series, Seekers.
Featuring a standout cast that includes Édgar Ramírez, Riley Keough and Jamie-Lynn Sigler among many others, Seekers is a six-part cinematic docuseries filmed across four different continents, which explores the depths of the human experience and the search for meaning.
Created and directed by Gio Israel, it follows cultural figures, everyday heroes, and real seekers as they step into ancient healing traditions, sacred ceremonies, and deeply personal journeys through grief, identity, trauma, belonging, purpose, and the growing global mental health crisis. Seekers got unprecedented access to global rituals, communities, and wisdom traditions rarely, and in some cases never before captured on film.
“We are trying to start working in the field of documentaries, and we believe this one is perfect”, María Pérez Campi, director of Sales for US Hispanic and Latam at Dori Media Group, said to ttvnews at the event in Los Angeles.
“This is our first docuseries”, added Nadav Palti, CEO of Dori Media. “We decided to get into it because our non-scripted content has been very successful. Our realities, game shows… so this docuseries will be part of that genre of non-scripted content. It’s the first time we are bringing something like it to the market.”
“And we believe Seekers will work very well in Latin America. It’s a very high-end production with a big investment. It demanded a big budget, because the series travels to the Amazon and India and different places, where very few people can get access. It is very impressive.”
In the same genre of unscripted content, Dori Media continues to showcase its series Young Suchard, with the added news of its second season now being in production.
Young Suchard follows the early life of international mind-reading sensation Lior Suchard, considered to be the world’s leading mentalist, known for his unique performances for A-list celebrities, global business tycoons, primetime TV specials, and shows for Fortune 500 companies across more than 90 countries. The 20-episode series blurs the lines between reality and imagination, offering a unique blend of comedy and drama with a nostalgic wink to the vibrant 90s in which he grew up.
“Young Suchard launched on Kan Kids and we are very happy with the results”, said Palti. “We have already started production on the second season, which will begin filming a month from now. This is unusual, we got the order at the end of last year, after they saw the first footage. We will be shooting another 20-episode season, which can be sold as a finished title or for remake locally, with Lior Suchard even being able to travel to do each one. We believe this will be a very successful title.”
Aside from docuseries, Dori Media is present in Los Angeles to celebrate the successful premiere of ¿Apostarías por mi?, the local edition of Power Couple, which premiered across all TelevisaUnivision platforms as the first 24/7 edition of the format.
Further expanding the format’s evolution, the 24/7 version was developed by Abot Hameiri (Fremantle Israel), in collaboration with Dori Media, enhancing the format’s reach and extending the Power Couple universe across multiple platforms.
“The succes of ¿Apostarías por mi? Is very important for us. We want to sell it worldwide, just like we continue to do with Power Couple“, Palti said.
Globally, Dori Media’s international sales team has sold Power Couple in Germany, Brazil, India, Mexico, the Spanish-speaking United States, and many other major countries, and recently licensed the format in Finland to Yellow Film.
In addition, Dori Media has secured renewals for Power Couple in Hungary, where it will return for a tenth season on RTL Hungary; in Romania, where it will premiere a fourth season on Antena; and in Bulgaria, where it has been renewed for a seventh season on Nova. Power Couple continues to be a global phenomenon, with over 70 seasons and more than 1,250 episodes produced worldwide.
Lastly, the executive highlighted the success of its other unscripted titles, such as La Subasta, Intuition, or Smartface, all of which have been sold and adapted in multiple territories around the world.
“We have the best of all,” the CEO said. “We have very successful non-scripted titles running all around the world.”
