Focus On replaces Country Spotlights in the anniversary edition, putting the spotlight on professional profiles.
Conecta Magaluf–Mallorca has confirmed its first international speakers and unveiled a new programming model that will include direct meetings between audiovisual industry decision-makers, marking a shift toward formats designed to drive tangible business outcomes within the global content ecosystem.
Among the first confirmed national and international participants are Caroline Servy (The Wit), Avi Armoza (Armoza Formats), Sebastian Van Barneveld (Talpa Studios), and Senay Tas (Global Agency); Dario Turovelzky (Telefe), José Eduardo Moniz (TVI), Ignacio Fernández-Vega (TBS, Telefónica Group), Emilio Sánchez (Atresmedia), Alberto Fernández (RTVE Playz), Morad Koufane (France TV), Sophie Valais and Diego de la Vega (European Audiovisual Observatory), as well as executives from Balearic companies such as Mike Day (Palma Pictures), Álvaro Iglesias (Solworks), and Martin Nigro (MNS Studios).
The program will also feature workshops led by top industry professionals, including Andri Ómarsson (Glassriver), Paloma Mora (TV On Producción), Mariela Besuievsky (Tornasol), Pandora da Cunha Telles (Ukbar), and Zaida Carmona (Filmin), focusing on how to practically build a European international co-production; Alexandra Lebret (Axio), an expert in financing; and Sandra Agudo (Konga Music). New production dynamics driven by artificial intelligence and emerging narrative models such as microdrama will also be explored, with participation from U.S. producer Jay Blumenfield (The Jay and Tony Show), currently focused on this format as a way to accelerate content development in Los Angeles.
Program pillars: IP, financing, and new production models
Conecta will focus on the evolution of IP toward longer lifecycle models, digital-first commissioning, the expansion of sports entertainment as a global asset, branded content as a financing tool, and microdrama as a testing ground for storytelling.
The integration of artificial intelligence into production workflows, along with shifts in financing and regulation, will round out an agenda aligned with the structural transformation of the international audiovisual sector.
Focus On: 1-to-1 meetings between industry decision-makers
For its tenth anniversary, Conecta is launching Focus On, a format that replaces the traditional Country Spotlights to center on the professional, introducing a matchmaking system based on 1-to-1 meetings. These sessions, scheduled throughout the program, will be dedicated to meetings with commissioners, producers, and investors.
The goal is to move from broad, general networking dynamics to structured, curated meetings between decision-makers with real capacity for investment, commissioning, or distribution, matched according to editorial, strategic, and business alignment.
The Focus On model prioritizes efficiency in decision-making and the quality of connections, reinforcing Conecta’s positioning as a boutique event focused on tangible outcomes rather than volume of interactions.
Magaluf: a growing hub for the meetings and events industry
In recent years, Magaluf has undergone a structural transformation that redefines its role within both tourism and the Mediterranean events industry. Located within the municipality of Calvià, the destination has evolved into an environment equipped to host professional activities year-round.
This shift reflects a new strategy centered on diversifying the tourism model, with greater emphasis on culture, sustainability, and economic activity linked to events and professional gatherings. Its hotel capacity, direct connectivity to Palma Airport (less than 20 minutes away), and availability of venues designed for conferences and corporate meetings—such as Meliá Calvià Beach—further strengthen its positioning as a functional location for the international audiovisual and business community.
