Turkish broadcaster Kanal 7 has commissioned a fourth season of its hit daily drama Behind the Veil (Gelin), which will return to screens after the summer with the same cast and production team behind its remarkable success.

Produced by Film Yapim Merkezi, the series has become one of the most successful dramas of its kind on Turkish television.

Since its premiere, Behind the Veil has broken audience records for the channel and has managed to outperform major productions from leading networks in the country—an especially significant achievement considering its moderate budget and its broadcast on a smaller station.

Behind the Veil has been one of those rare projects that exceeds expectations at every stage. Seeing it move into a fourth season, with its cast and creative team intact, is a testament to the strength of its storytelling and the loyalty of its audience,” said Handan Özkubat, head of Turkish drama at Eccho Rights. “We are delighted to continue this journey and to bring this outstanding series to even more corners of the world.”

The renewal comes amid strong international expansion for the title. Eccho Rights has recently closed sales in Poland, Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro, Romania, Moldova and Georgia, while the series had already been licensed in Israel, the Dominican Republic, Paraguay, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, northern Iraq and Indonesia.

Heading into its fourth season, the story has taken viewers on an intense journey. In the first season, Hançer, a young orphan, enters into a marriage of convenience with wealthy heir Cihan, where love unexpectedly blossoms. In the second installment, their relationship is pushed to the limit by the intrigues of Cihan’s ex-wife Beyza and his mother, Mukadder. The third season introduces new conflicts with the return of Hançer’s mother and the arrival of a vengeful sister determined to destroy Cihan’s family.
