Fremantle has appointed Ben Crompton as its new Global Head of Entertainment. He will assume the position later this month and will report directly to Jennifer Mullin, Global CEO of the company.
Crompton joins Fremantle with extensive experience in the creation, development, and production of global formats. Most recently, he served as Vice President of International Unscripted at NBCUniversal, where he led the development of formats, intellectual property, and third-party projects, working closely with international producers and talent.
Previously, he launched and led Lime Pictures’ US operation. As Executive Vice President in the US, he oversaw productions including Dance Monsters for Netflix, True Love or True Lies for MTV, Dating No Filter for E!, and Who Do You Believe? for ABC.
Throughout his career, he has also held senior creative and strategic roles at Warner Bros. in Australia, Eyeworks in the UK, and ITV Studios.
Crompton will succeed Andrew Llinares, who is stepping down from the role.
“We are thrilled to welcome Ben to Fremantle. He is a business-minded leader with a deep understanding of the industry, not only from a development and production perspective but also from a commercial and strategic viewpoint. I look forward to working closely with Ben and our hugely talented team at this extremely exciting time for the business,” said Mullin.
Crompton added: “It is a great honor to be joining Fremantle and to work with Jennifer and such a brilliant team. I have long admired Fremantle, a company known for its creativity, innovation, and groundbreaking formats. I can’t wait to get started and collaborate with the exceptional talent across the Fremantle business.”
The appointment comes at a time of strong momentum for Fremantle’s entertainment division. In 2025, the company delivered 345 commissions across 62 territories, reinforcing its position as one of the world’s leading creators of entertainment formats. During this year’s London Screenings, Fremantle also presented an expanded entertainment slate featuring titles including Hister, Handcuffed, Special Delivery, Hole in One, and The Advent Calendar.
