In Vitro and The Dark Book: The Secret of the Egerias are among the ten projects chosen for the second edition of the exclusive buyers event, set to take place on March 23 in Lille as a prelude to Series Mania Forum.

Series Mania Forum has announced the ten projects selected for the second edition of its Buyers Upfront initiative, an invitation-only event for international buyers that will take place on March 23 in Lille, France, ahead of the market.

Among the selected titles are two Spanish productions: In Vitro and The Dark Book: The Secret of the Egerias (working title), which are part of a slate curated by the festival’s artistic team based on both creative merit and international appeal.

In Vitro is a six-episode, 45-minute series produced by Moiré Films, Rodar y Rodar, and Bullfrog Pictures, in co-production with 3Cat and with the participation of HBO Max. With international sales handled by Beta Film, the story follows Blanca, a 37-year-old microbiologist who begins working at a fertility clinic and finds herself confronting both the dilemmas of her patients and her own personal challenges.

Meanwhile, The Dark Book: The Secret of the Egerias, distributed internationally by Studio TF1, is a six-episode thriller set in Vitoria. The story follows Unai, a former top criminal profiler who left the police after his daughter was kidnapped. His life is turned upside down when a series of murders linked to rare books forces him to search for a legendary medieval manuscript that could expose secret societies and reveal the truth about his own family.

The Buyers Upfront will bring together more than 100 international buyers to discover a curated slate of new premium series. The day will begin with the traditional BETA Brunch and conclude with an official dinner in partnership with Pernel Media.

In addition to the Spanish titles, eight other projects from international markets will be presented, including productions from France, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Australia, Japan, Singapore, and Norway.

The Buyers Choice Award, selected by a six-member jury of key industry buyers, will be presented during the Series Mania Forum awards ceremony on March 24 at the Hôtel Barrière in Lille.
