Every city has two sides. In this bold 12-part documentary series, director Steven Prior (Channel 4’s Hunted, BBC’s Hidden Treasures of the National Trust) and journalist Emily Laing (Distracted, Why Do You Think You’ve Got No Friends?) venture beyond the postcards to expose the dualities that define the world’s most recognisable destinations.

From Las Vegas to Tokyo, Prague to Dublin – viewers follow Steve and Emily as they navigate both the glitter and the grit. One moment they’re underground with the homeless in Las Vegas tunnels; the next, they’re in penthouses with high-rolling brokers. The result is unflinching urban reality that mainstream travel programming never shows.

Originally produced in English, the series is now localised into Available now on Pluto TV, the series is available in Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese for Pluto TV Vida Real fans across for Latam. Each of the 12 episodes runs 50 minutes, with additional language versions available in Arabic and Russian.

Steven Prior’s forensic directorial approach creates a unique lens on urban life – one that’s journalistic, empathetic, and utterly compelling.
