Together with Brazil’s Globo, they are announcing the joint launch of the new format Páginas de la Vida, which already has a trailer that will be unveiled at Content Americas.

Produced by Luis Cabrera, from Miami.

With two new series and a catalog largely driven by popular Turkish dramas, Sociedade Independente de Comunicação (SIC) arrives at Content Americas as part of a strategy aimed at captivating Latin American audiences with content that has already enjoyed great success in Portugal.

This was shared with ttvnews by Carlota Vieira, SIC’s Deputy Head of Content Sales, who announced that the new series they are bringing to the market are Luna Roja: New Generation and Azul.

Azul is a slightly more European series, but incredibly beautiful, with stunning visuals, filmed between the Azores Islands and Iceland. It’s six 50-minute episodes. The story is set in a dystopian future where the planet is under threat and whales no longer exist. There’s a very special young woman, someone with trisomy 21 and great sensitivity, who can connect with animals in some way. She gets the sense that she might be able to connect with a whale and wants to investigate in the Azores, in the middle of the ocean, to see if there’s still something out there. And yes, she finds a whale, and from there they try to do everything possible to save it. Of course, there are also villains who have them captured for experiences aimed at very wealthy people,” the executive explained.

On the other hand, Luna Roja is a spin-off of a 2011 series that tells the story of the daughter of a couple made up of a normal girl and a vampire man. “When the girl joins him, she starts to develop special powers. Now the daughter has a mix of both their powers, but she doesn’t know it and has never used them until the night she turns 17, when the moon turns red. Not everyone is a vampire; it’s a mix, exploring how love survives,” Vieira said.

Vieira also highlighted that they continue to promote Broken Promise, the adaptation of the Turkish Kanal D series. “It’s working very well for us and is ready for delivery. We are also presenting Victoria, which is the adaptation of Gülperi, a successful Turkish drama produced by Tims & B Productions and distributed internationally by Global Agency. It’s a huge hit in Portugal and has performed extremely well. We’re also preparing it for distribution here.”

Announcements with Globo

Vieira announced that during Content Americas, Globo will unveil the launch of a new format adaptation that they are producing together. “It’s Páginas de la Vida, which already has a trailer that will be presented here as a launch at Content Americas. We’re pleased with these new telenovelas and series as we continue to push to expand further into Latin America,” the executive concluded.
